Year after year, the Brisbane Queer Film Festival never fails to deliver on its promise to bring you the best LGBTI films on offer from around the globe – and BQFF 2011 is no different. Showcasing a selection of films so sensational your head might just explode in a shower of sequins, the ever popular festival returns to Brisbane Powerhouse from Friday 8 to Sunday 17 April.

The  deadline has been extended for the 17th WOW (World of Women) Film Festival. Organisers are callling for entries for Fiction, Documentary, Animation, Digi-Vodules and Student films of less than 55 minutes duration with key creative input by women from Australia and around the world..

Sagan is the French biopic about the fabulous life of novelist Francoise Sagan who shot to fame in 1954. Sylvie Testud plays the title role and dives deep into her life as a writer, mother, addict and, rather secondary to the story, her literary prowess.

The Possible Worlds, Sydney’s Canadian Film Festival showcasing the best new films made in Canada runs from August 2 to August 8 in a number of Sydney venues including Dendy Opera Quays and Dendy Newtown.
