The singer is to be the first star immortalised on West Hollywood’s new Gay Walk of Fame.
The new Gay Walk of Fame is a new attraction and is part of the grand re-opening of The Abbey, a famous gay bar. The singer cemented her handprints and footprints into the sidewalk, making her the first inductee of the Walk of Fame.
A representative from the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, Stevie St. John, said that Aguilera was chosen as first inductee for the new attraction because of the work she has done in suppprting the worldwide LGBT community. Aguilera recently told a music website, “I think there’s a lot of unfairness that goes along with being gay, so the more I can do to give them a voice, then I’ll do so.”
