Sydney's favourite mass dance class for adults will hang up its dancing shoes next month, with CarriageWorks announcing that Wrong Prom: Chicago on Wednesday 25 August will be the last Wrong Prom ever.
With glitz, glamour and All That Jazz, the last Wrong Prom will transform CarriageWorks into Broadway, complete with Razzle Dazzle, chorus-lines and the magical showtunes of Bob Fosse and Fred Ebb's Chicago
Hosted by the very sexy Veronica Beattie (a Can Can dancer in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge) and with DJ Sveta spinning the show-stopping tunes, Wrong Prom: Chicago promises to teach its guests some murderous last moves and to paint the town red in a final celebration. The theme is a fitting finale to the event series which has given over 4000 Sydneysiders the opportunity to embrace the spotlight over the last two years ... even if it's just for one night!
As always, tickets are selling fast and patrons are urged to purchase their tickets now for the last chance to experience the Wrong Prom phenomenon!
Says Jamie Dawson Executive Producer at CarriageWorks: "We are very proud of what CarriageWorks has achieved through Wrong Prom and it's bittersweet to be coming to the end of a good thing, but we are looking to build on the success of Wrong Prom with future programming that engages audiences and community in unique ways. Stay tuned..."
